Tuition Assistance 
 Soldiers will be eligible for TA upon successfully completing one year of service following graduation from AIT, WOBC or BOLC. You will be able to take up to 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours of TA-funded courses per year. You will receive up to $250 SH/$165 QH for up to 130 SHs for completion of an undergraduate degree (Associate's and Bachelor’s Degree) and 39 SHs for a graduate degree (Master’s degree) but no fees are covered.  TA can only be used towards a graduate degree once you have 10 years of service. This 10 year window does not apply if TA didn't pay for ANY portion of your undergraduate coursework.  TA cannot be used for a lower or lateral degree, nor can it be used for first professional degrees, e.g., PhD, MD or JD.  TA must be approved BEFORE the class start date so you must request it at least 7-10 days before the class start date.

Passing grades for undergraduate = A, B & C only and graduate  = A & B only
GI Bill
Apply for your GI Bill through the VA website at www.gibill.va.gov.  Don't forget to upload a copy of your supporting documents that verify eligibility.  If you are applying for the Chapter 1606 MGIB upload a copy of your Notice of Eligibility (NOBE), if applying for the Chapter 1607 known as REAP or the Chapter 33 known as Post 9/11, upload copies of your DD 214s that verify eligible active duty time since September 11, 2001.  Also upload a copy of your kicker contract if eligible.
Testing
The Army Personnel Testing (APT) encompasses standardized test to determine eligibility for specialized training and to support the Army's personnel selection and classification process, including language proficiency testing.  Currently, the Oregon Army National Guard Education Office offers the following tests:  Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT),  Selection Instrument  Flight Training (SIFT), Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT),  Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) and Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).   Soldiers interested in taking an APT at this location must contact their unit to obtain a completed a DA 4187 prior to scheduling an appointment with this office.
