License & Certification Exam Reimbursement
The Army National Guard currently offers reimbursement for costs associated with earning licensure or certification, to include: exam, fee, registration fee and up to $500 for cost of preparatory courses and study materials This reimbursement is available for current ARNG service members; spouses, civilian and contractorare not eligible. Reimbursements are subject to the availability of funding and priority is first come, first served.
Recruitment Incentive and Retention Program (RIRP)
RIRP or “State TA” is a separate program from Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA)
The Recruitment Incentive and Retention Program (RIRP) is a New York State program designed to recruit and retain quality members for the State Military Forces (Army and Air National Guard, and Naval Militia). This competitive program will pay the cost of tuition up to the current SUNY tuition rate of $5570.00 per calendar year for eligible qualified applicants. Soldiers who apply by the deadline date will have an additional 60 days to forward any and all required financial aid documentation to the Education Office. Applications must be submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org. No paper copies, faxes, etc will be accepted. Applications must be received by 15 August for the Fall Semester and 15 December for the Spring Semester.
