Even though the majority of DoD civilian employees have returned to work on
the 7th of October, TA funds are still not available since Congress has not

Since we do not know how much time will pass before funding is approved, we recommend that you consider studying for academic tests (CLEP, DSSTs) that can give you college credit. While DANTES funded exams are also suspended due to the budget impasse you can still prepare for the tests and take them when funding is restored. Retests are not funded so it is important that you prepare well for the exams. Additionally, we encourage you to sign up for the free online career exploration program, Kuder Journey at www.dantes.kuder.com. This account provides Soldiers lifetime privileges and has valuable information on many topics, e.g., assessment instruments, careers and job searches. Tens of thousands of these accounts will expire the end of December if they are not activated.
